Why does dick vitale love duke

That statement may not hold water more than the perception that ESPN college basketball analyst loves him some Duke basketball, hence the nickname he has earned from the college basketball fan base of "Dukie V. Cohen watched five games, a sampling of 1, comments on telecasts of five Duke basketball games from the past two seasons that Vitale worked.
Cohen's analysis only covers five games, so it's difficult to come to a definitive conclusion based on just that. Awful Announcing, a blog that covers the world of broadcast media, added some insight on top of Cohen's article, including a documented history of Vitale's over-the-top praise of Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski.
The label of Vitale as a "Duke homer" could be just a matter of numbers. Duke is a title contender year in and year out and Vitale has been assigned to ESPN's top games for years as their most visible analyst. Duke games do well in the ratings for ESPN, so Vitale has been on the call of a number of high-profile games over the years involving the Blue Devils.
It shows you can do a large number of games for a particular team and call the game fairly. Whether it is true or not, this ship left the harbor years ago and is never coming back.
There is a large percentage of college basketball fans that will believe Vitale is biased towards Duke and will never be talked out of that belief. All he asks for is that Duke gets respect around the country and that no one, especially ESPN, sends him out to the West Coast to do a game.
Because he hates going to Nebraska. He gets into bed and thinks about the next day. The Huskies win the tap. His broadcast partner, Brad Nessler, congratulates him. He scores 55, grabs 17 boards, dishes out 11 assists and records 11 steals as well. Many around the nation are calling it one of the best all-around single game performances they've ever seen.
Nessler asks Vitale his opinion on Butler's game. This Butler kid is nothing compared to the Super Soph Duhon! I saw a game last year where Duhon scored 14 points! He was flat out awesome babee! Caron, what is your take on Shane Battier? I have a lot of respect for his game. Brad, back to you. Plays down in Memphis now, doing quite well as a matter of fact, had 30 last night. They're sending me out west again. I hate the Pacific Ocean. Kim asks him about the surprising Arizona Wildcats and their two top-five wins from last week.
Not just college basketball, but all of basketball at every level!!! Duke could beat the Bulls right now. I know some of you out there in America are going to laugh at me, but I really think the two best teams in the NBA are the Lakers and Duke. Vitale wakes up happy, ready to face another day.
He's gonna be awesome babeee!!! When Duke's game isn't the first highlight shown, Vitale throws his bowl of Coach K Krunch at the screen. Iowa vs. Missouri is the highlight being shown. The producer laughs. Coach K won't be in until 10 either.
Stop calling me! He needs his opinion on what to wear to that night's game. Afterwards, Vitale grabs the sweat-soaked towel Hill used and runs off with it. She calls her divorce lawyer Okay children! Dickie V shows his love to whoever he is broadcasting for. So what do you think he is going to say when they win constantly, run clean programs and graduate players? That they stink? If you are tired of Dickie V, then maybe the rest of the teams in the ACC should man up and put a better product on the floor.
His true love is Duke University. They normally go off on tangents that have nothing to do with the current game and the ordinary listener has no interest in. Dick Vitale has been consistent over the years. He is entertaining and provides some familiarity with his catch phrases. At 72, he is still working and doing what he loves. Someone uploaded a video on YouTube where Vitale went off on a rant about how Coach K had a relaxing day because he had beaten some team by 44 points the previous day.
A freshman in the game made a good block, and Vitale thought Coach K would be proud of it. If you did not know Duke had beaten a team by 44 points, now you know. That's not an every game occurrence, so it was probably worth mentioning. Duke wins games, and so does North Carolina. Maybe in a few years, Vitale will be singing the praises of Kentucky just as much. Since John Calipari arrived in Lexington just over two years ago, Kentucky can easily make a case for the No.
